Despoina Petkou

My name is Despina Petkou, and I live in Epanomi. I studied English Language and Literature at Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, and I am soon going to complete my Master’s Degree in “Education and Technologies in Distance Learning Systems” at Hellenic Open University.

I have also engaged with languages other than English, such as German, Russian, and Spanish, and I have attended many seminars about Special Education, Artificial Intelligence in Education, and teaching children in an interactive way.

When I was young, I knew that I wanted to study English because I loved the language itself from an early age. However, when I first came into contact with children during my internship at a school, I decided that I wanted to be an English teacher.

I believe that learning a foreign language is a process that takes time; it cannot happen overnight.

For this reason, learning should be as fun and efficient as possible so that students, whether young or adult, will love the language at first and then be able to acquire it.
