Korina Papadopoulou
My name is Korina Papadopoulou, Elina and Efi’s mother and I am an English language teacher. Teaching has always been my dream . I was born in Thessaloniki and hold a BA in English Language and Literature at AUTH.
I opened my first language school at Plagiari in 1999 and in 2006 our second one in Epanomi. Today I feel immensely grateful for these 30 incredible years in the private sector where I have collaborated with excellent teachers and devoted parents . My students have actually been helping me improve both as a teacher and a person all those years, and I feel I owe them a lot. I have attended numerous seminars and educational workshops on teaching methodologies, learning difficulties, exam techniques and psychology. I so much believe in our school’s impeccable organization, reliability, flexibility under challenges and most of all in the teamwork dynamic. I am a lifelong learner myself and a fervent supporter of Socrates who once said ‘The only true wisdom is in knowing you know nothing’ ,so I encourage my students to keep an open heart and mind.
The last 5 years I have been teaching English through stories and have adopted a holistic approach to grammar adapting my lesson to a neurolinguistic approach . I have incorporated alternative student assessment in an attempt to shift the learners focus from the marking scheme towards what really matters, language acquisition!
My goal is to help my students discover their wings and fly towards their hearts’ destination with the help of the English language .
