"Teachers open the door for you to enter by yourself"

Korina Papadopoulou

My name is Korina Papadopoulou, Elina and Efi’s mother and I am an English language teacher. Teaching has always been my dream . I was born in Thessaloniki and hold a BA in English Language and Literature at AUTH.

I opened my first language school at Plagiari in 1999 and in 2006 our second one in Epanomi. Today I feel immensely grateful for these 30 incredible years in the private sector where I have collaborated with excellent teachers and devoted parents . My students have actually been helping me improve both as a teacher and a person all those years, and I feel I owe them a lot. I have attended numerous seminars and educational workshops on teaching methodologies, learning difficulties, exam techniques and psychology. I so much believe in our school’s impeccable organization, reliability, flexibility under challenges and most of all in the teamwork dynamic. I am a lifelong learner myself and a fervent supporter of Socrates who once said ‘The only true wisdom is in knowing you know nothing’ ,so I encourage my students to keep an open heart and mind.

The last 5 years I have been teaching English through stories and have adopted a holistic approach to grammar adapting my lesson to a neurolinguistic approach . I have incorporated alternative student assessment in an attempt to shift the learners focus from the marking scheme towards what really matters, language acquisition!
My goal is to help my students discover their wings and fly towards their hearts’ destination with the help of the English language .

Effie Baxevani

My name is Effie Baxevani and I have been teaching in our school since 2005. My studies were completed at Chichester University, Sussex. Pedagogical, methodology and technology seminars which I have attended have helped me complement and enhance my skills and get closer to professional development and personal growth.

I have learned to set goals, realize them and maximize my students’ true potential.
I work with students of all levels, from Pre-Junior classes, combining projects, crafts and classroom games, to exam prep classes, where the teaching approach is different but equally effective and enjoyable. An integral part of my job is teaching ‘Deeper Learning’, an innovative teaching tool, which has broadened our school’s horizons and defined our identity. I have also been working as an oral examiner for levels B1-C1, which has enabled my deeper understanding of the exam system.

Dear Students, I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart for giving me the chance to teach you and, thus, make my dream come true.

Vivi Panoudi

I am Vivi Panoudi, mother of two wonderful girls. I come from Serres and I studied in Komotini. I hold a BA in Greek Literature at Democritus University of Thrace.

I joined the creative DLS team in September 2009 and I feel immensely fortunate. For me attending seminars and educational workshops has helped keep up with the foreign language demands in education. Besides that working at the secretarial post means I come into everyday contact with children whom I love so much . In a nutshell working with young kids offers way too many happy experiences.

Ioanna Katsaouni

My name is Ioanna Katsaouni, I live in Plagiari and I am Christina’s mum. I am a graduate of the Department of English Language and Literature of AUTH and I have been working at Dimitria for the last 15 years teaching children and adults.

I have attended many seminars about learning English to students with learning difficulties and other specialities, as well as teaching English to young learners which is one of the most demanding parts of our job.Keeping in mind that “the beginning is half the battle”, I try to make our young students love English through enjoyable activities and games. One of the most moving parts of teaching all these years is seeing young students become teenagers, one step before obtaining their certificates, realizing that I have contributed to the development of these children.

My own goal and that of the entire Dimitria Language Schools (DLS) team is to approach our students in such a way so that they feel happy every time they come to our school. Every day I do my best to bring the best possible result and prove to my students and their parents that teaching means love and imagination…

Elina Drogala

My name is Drogala Elina. I come from Thessaloniki and I am a BA graduate of the English Language and ELT course at Anglia Ruskin University in Cambridge. Along with my studies, I also had my internship from which I obtained the CELTA degree.

After coming back to Greece, I attended various seminars related to ELT, one of which was the Deeper Learning program. I have been working at Dimitria Language School in Plagiari and Epanomi since 2015, teaching all levels from Pre Junior to Proficiency.

My everyday goal is to do my best and to evolve both personally and professionally throughout lifelong learning education.

Tatiana Parastatidou

My name is Tatiana Parastatidou and I have been working as an English teacher since 2012. I hold a bachelor’s degree in English Language and Literature of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and a master’s degree in Special Education and Education of Individuals with Speech and Writing difficulties. I have also attended a seminar in School Psychology.

For me students are the center in every class and I always try to differentiate my teaching in order to meet their needs.

I believe that educators have to remember that “If a child can’t learn the way we teach, we should teach the way they learn”

Tasoula Matraka

My name is Tasoula Matraka and I hold the secretarial position at Epanomi school located near Neo Parko.

To my eyes organization, consistency and a broad smile can make our lives not only easier but much more enjoyable as well .

Natalia Pappa

My name is Natalia Pappa and I live in Thessaloniki, where I have graduated from the School of English Language and Literature of the Aristotle University. My studies are ongoing, with a Master’s Degree in Intercultural Education and training in Special Education and Instruction.

I love gaining knowledge and learning new skills and, through my teaching, I wish to impart this knowledge to the people around me. In my classroom, I always strive to make my students feel that their needs and their concerns are heard and appreciated.

My main aims, apart from teaching language skills, are to empower my students, so that they can feel accepted and self-confident and to build a relationship of love and trust with them.

Despoina Petkou

My name is Despina Petkou, and I live in Epanomi. I studied English Language and Literature at Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, and I am soon going to complete my Master’s Degree in “Education and Technologies in Distance Learning Systems” at Hellenic Open University.

I have also engaged with languages other than English, such as German, Russian, and Spanish, and I have attended many seminars about Special Education, Artificial Intelligence in Education, and teaching children in an interactive way.

When I was young, I knew that I wanted to study English because I loved the language itself from an early age. However, when I first came into contact with children during my internship at a school, I decided that I wanted to be an English teacher.

I believe that learning a foreign language is a process that takes time; it cannot happen overnight.

For this reason, learning should be as fun and efficient as possible so that students, whether young or adult, will love the language at first and then be able to acquire it.
