Methodology

At Dimitria Language school the lesson takes place only in English. Our aim is for our students to learn the language fluently and not just to prepare them for the high stake exams.

In our English language school we teach

  • The language along with moral values and life skills
  • Experiential learning through games, storytelling ,creative writing, role play, films and music
  • The Critical Pedagogy where our students’ individual voices are heard and respected
  • The principles of communication, collaboration, team spirit, curiosity and creativity.
  • The CLIL content methodology

Our teaching philosophy

  • We want our students to believe in their uniqueness and we strive to achieve this through the self-fulfilling prophecy in education by Rosenthal and Jacobson
  • We respect our students’ individuality and their learning styles
  • We reinforce the notion of team spirit creating a safe classroom environment where individuals cooperate, respect and show empathy
  • We want our students to become autonomous learners speaking and writing fluently
  • We see exams as a goal ,not a means to an end
  • We use technology in the classroom
  • We see errors as a tool towards progress

For us Activities in and outside the classroom are an integral part of our identity

  1. Theme based projects ( Empathy Month,Bullying,Human Rights..)

  3. Excursions to museums, escape rooms, the theatre and cinema
  4. Trips to beautiful Northern Greece
  5. Educational trip to England
  6. Spelling Bee competition
  7. Parent and Student seminars
  8. Parties
  9. Palso excellence award ceremony

At our English school, we use Glossobooks!

Glossobooks are a series of supplementary books, to be used along with our core series, focusing on different areas of language development. 

From storytelling to phonology and from creative writing to summer fun, Glossobooks are different, alternative, innovative tools that make our lessons engaging and inspire both our learners and teachers!
